Introduction: Khon Dance, a traditional Thai performance art, involves complex, coordinated movements that challenge postural control. This study investigated the effects of Khon dance training on balance regulation during the Ten-Sao movement. Objective: To compare center of pressure (COP) variables during Ten-Sao between experienced Khon dancers and non-dancers, and assess the influence of long-term dance training on postural stability. Methods: Fifty-four healthy males (27 dancers, 27 non-dancers) performed the Ten-Sao sequence barefoot on dual force plates. COP metrics were analyzed in the medio-lateral (ML) and antero-posterior (AP) directions during single-leg stance. Results: Dancers showed significantly reduced ML COP excursion, displacement, velocity, and range, indicating enhanced lateral stability. No significant differences were found in AP measures. Conclusion: Khon dancers exhibit superior ML postural control, suggesting that traditional dance training induces neuromuscular adaptations that support balance.
