ABSTRACT Wolffia globosa is an aquatic plant recognized as a sustainable protein source. This study evaluated the effects of processed dried chicken manure (DCM) on the growth, water quality, and nutritional composition of W. globosa compared with synthetic fertilizer (NPK 15-15-15). A completely randomized design was conducted in 10 L configurations across four treatments: a chemical control (2.2 g/10 L NPK; 0.22 g/L) and three DCM concentrations of 17.6 (T1), 13.3 (T2), and 8.8 (T3) g/10 L. By Day 15, all DCM treatments achieved significantly higher fresh biomass than the synthetic control ( p < 0.05). The most efficient organic formulation, T3, reached a final weight of 51.12 ± 4.64 g and a specific growth rate (SGR) of 0.075 ± 0.005/day, statistically equivalent to higher organic loads ( p > 0.05). While the synthetic control exhibited elevated electrical conductivity (EC) (4.92 mS/cm) and total ammonia nitrogen (TAN) (12.90 mg/L), causing growth stagnation, DCM treatments maintained stable EC (2.82–3.06 mS/cm) with undetected TAN (LOD < 0.45 mg/L). Microbiological screening confirmed that Escherichia coli densities remained undetected in both the initial nutrient source and final culture medium. Regarding proximate profiles, DCM grown biomass sustained approximately 45% crude protein and significantly higher NFE accumulation (28.99%) than the synthetic baseline. In conclusion, low-dose DCM (T3) serves as a viable organic nutrient matrix relative to the chemical control within 10 L setups, supporting circular economy models while framing this biomass strictly as a potential raw bioresource pending safety assessments.
