Dioryx Benson, 1859 Alycæus (Dioryx) Benson, 1859: 177. Dioryx – Páll-Gergely et al. 2020 d: 121–122. Type species. Alycaeus amphora Benson, 1856, by subsequent designation (Gude 1921: 198). Remarks. This genus is diagnosed by a globular or high-spired shell, sometimes the body whorl is angled or keeled, a smooth protoconch, a reduced sculpture in teleoconch, and an absence of R 3. At present, there are 27 species of Dioryx known from the southeastern Himalayan region to Taiwan in the east, and down to the northern part of the Malay Peninsula and southern Vietnam in the south (Páll-Gergely et al. 2020 d).
