Information from the abstract
Pigmented commercial masked stereolithography resins load photoblockers that lengthen the bottom exposure and stress the display panel, while clear resins let 405 nm light penetrate the vat, producing axial over-curing and lateral swelling. Nine industrial opacifiers and colorants are ranked by their mass attenuation coefficient averaged over the 380–430 nm window of the source, reducing photoblocker selection to one spectroscopic measurement. The ranking defines a complementary-strength pairing rule: the strong opacifier titanium dioxide with the weak dye phthalocyanine blue, and the weak opacifier zinc oxide with the strong azo dye diazo pyrazolone orange. The cure response is described by the Jacobs working curve and a kinetic power law whose descriptors predict dimensional fidelity. At 1.5 times the layer energy the optimized zinc oxide-orange formulation cuts the axial over-cure from 320 to 13 µm, a residual indistinguishable from zero within the measurement error, shortens the bottom exposure fourfold to 50 s, and shows no significant difference in flexural modulus from the clear base, near 1.4 gigapascals (p = 0.69). The rule gives high-resolution, mechanically sound and printer-safe printing; its selection step should transfer between resins, whereas the loadings and exposures reported here are resin-specific.
