Hotel industry plays a vital role in the Thai economy, and therefore, this study examines the relationship between perceived organizational support, knowledge sharing and extra-role behavior among 493 hotel employees in Bangkok. The analysis revealed that perceived organizational support has a significant effect on hotel employees’ extra-role behavior and knowledge sharing, and that the relationship between perceived organizational support and extra-role behavior is partially mediated by knowledge sharing. Using the tenets of social exchange theory, this research proposes relevant implications. These findings will be helpful for future researchers and hotels to face future challenges regarding innovation in the hospitality industry.
