Information from the abstract
Based on unique morphological characters and molecular phylogenetic analysis, Lasiolepiota is described as a new genus comprising two new species, La. oinochroa and La. thailandica , collected from the forests of Laos and Thailand. Lasiolepiota is characterized by a glabrous patch at pileus center, small to large basidiomata covered with a thick layer of fibrous felt or woolly floccules, free and white lamellae, a fragile annulus, a similar pileus- and stipe covering a complex hyphal type of structure composed of irregular and branched hyphae, hyaline, ellipsoid, ovoid to amygdaliform basidiospores, clavate to fusiform cheilocystidia, and no pleurocystidia. Furthermore, the molecular phylogenetic analysis of combined gene sequences (ITS, LSU, rpb 2, and tef 1-α) confirmed that Lasiolepiota is a part of the Agaricaceae s.str., and distinctly separate from other genera.
