Information from the abstract
This study evaluated the effect of fertilizer rates combined with electrolyzed water on growth and yield components of red banana (Musa acuminata AAA 'Kluai Nak'). The experiment used a randomized complete block design with three replications and five treatments: tap water with the standard fertilizer rate, electrolyzed water with the standard rate, electrolyzed water with 20% increased fertilizer, electrolyzed water with 20% reduced fertilizer, and electrolyzed water with 40% reduced fertilizer. The treatments did not significantly affect leaf number, leaf length, or petiole length, but significantly affected pseudostem circumference and height. Electrolyzed water with 40% reduced fertilizer produced the greatest pseudostem circumference and height. However, the best yield was obtained from electrolyzed water with the standard fertilizer rate, which increased the number of fingers per hand, hand weight, and fruit weight compared with the control. Although reducing fertilizer by 40% increased fruit width and circumference, it reduced fruit number and weight. These results indicate that electrolyzed water can improve nutrient use efficiency, enhance plant growth, and improve yield components, although it cannot fully replace proper fertilizer management.
