Despite growing significance of teleworking, its effective activation is resisted by users’ perceptions affecting adoption behaviors and productivity. This study evaluates how teleworking perceptions affect employee adoption behavior and productivity. The theoretical underpinnings of the technology acceptance model (TAM), theory of planned behavior (TBP), data from 443 employees, and the structural equation modeling (SEM) technique were used to estimate the factors affecting teleworking adoption behaviors and productivity. The findings indicate that perceived ease of use, organizational culture, education, and job position significantly influence employees’ teleworking adoption behaviors and productivity. However, personal attitude, perceived behavioral control, and gender did not predict changes in employees’ teleworking adoption behaviors and productivity. Our findings contribute to the analysis of the factors limiting the activation of teleworking across institutions. These factors can be used to design and modify existing teleworking policies for businesses looking to thrive in the post-pandemic era.
