An exploratory mapping LGBTQ+ research and intervention priorities in Southeast Asia (2025-2035)

The survey of 142 researchers, community workers and activists from 11 countries outlines the region's LGBTQ+ research and intervention agenda for 2025-2035.

  • Mental health and suicide were rated as very important issues by 81.0%.
  • Training of LGBTQ+ health personnel was 78.9 percent and HIV/AIDS 70.9 percent.
  • Priorities vary according to country context. Thailand places importance on mental health.

Limitations to consider

It is an exploratory survey. The sample was not representative of the entire LGBTQ+ population in the region, and questionnaires were collected in English.
