Thai researchers described Aricidea pacharaphoni and A. sathingpra as new species from the Andaman coast and Gulf of Thailand using antennae, branchiae and chaetae. COI phylogeny supported A. pacharaphoni, and a global key to Aricidea was provided. The abstract is less clear about molecular support for A. sathingpra.

- A. pacharaphoni has an antenna reaching chaetigers 3-7, distinctive globose-digitiform lobes on chaetiger three, two branchial forms and two modified neurochaeta types. A. sathingpra has a triarticulated antenna, paired round prostomial protuberances and 6-7 pairs of broad branchiae. COI supported A. pacharaphoni as distinct.

Limitations to consider
The abstract omits specimen counts, type deposition details, intraspecific variation and COI support for A. sathingpra. One mitochondrial marker may be insufficient for cryptic taxa, and abundance, distribution and ecology remain unknown.
