A hybrid SECI+Agile model for developing behavioral agility among academic librarians

A six-month intervention with 32 Dali University librarians found significantly higher behavioral-agility scores after a hybrid SECI+Agile model, but the one-group pre–post design cannot establish causality.

01

Key findings

  • Behavioral-agility scores improved significantly after the intervention, according to the abstract, which does not report effect sizes, component-level results or post-program follow-up.
02

Why this matters globally

The study connects knowledge-creation theory with Agile management in a traditionally hierarchical profession and offers a model for more rigorous organizational trials.

03

Thai researcher contribution

A Chiang Mai University researcher contributed to developing and evaluating the behavioral-change model in collaboration with a Chinese university.

04

Limitations to consider

The sample was small and from one institution, with no control group. Self/peer ratings may be biased, and durability and effects on actual library service quality are unknown.
