Leveraging Data Analytics Across Digital Product Development Stages : A Systematic Review and Conceptual Framework

A systematic review screened 1,554 records from ScienceDirect, IEEE Xplore and Emerald and retained 33 studies, mapping analytics across opportunity identification, feasibility, prototyping and market response through text mining, prediction, digital twins, generative design and recommenders.

01

Key findings

  • Text mining supported opportunity discovery, prediction feasibility, digital twins and generative design prototyping, and predictive/recommender systems market response. Recurring barriers were integration, skills, readiness, data quality, bias, ethics and opacity.
02

Why this matters globally

Organizations often begin with tools rather than decisions. A lifecycle map helps specify which analytics supports which decision and what governance is required.

Thai researcher contribution

Three KMITL-affiliated authors contribute a Thailand-based information-systems and business-intelligence perspective to a regional journal.

04

Limitations to consider

Three databases may miss ACM, Scopus, Web of Science and industry evidence. Language, date and quality appraisal details are absent from the abstract; 33 heterogeneous studies cannot support causal claims, and the framework lacks cross-organization validation.
