The study assessed the implementation of the CheckPD app in 10 provinces through a combination of public health volunteers, dispatch and self-use. It shows that a population-level neurological disease screening system can be connected to the national health network.
Key findings
- 13,381 of 18,520 users completed the screening process. Accounting for 72.3 percent
- Among the 730 people whose screening results were positive and who were examined by a neurologist, the system had a positive predictive value of 81.23 percent.
- The average SUS ease-of-use score was 83, and users completed 92 percent of first-time tasks.
Why this matters globally
This model combines an AI app and a volunteer network. and referral systems in middle-income countries Therefore, it is a case study that other countries can adapt to population-level brain health screening.

Limitations to consider
This is an early assessment in 10 provinces and is not representative of the entire Thai population, and the positive predictive value in the group of positive results cannot be used as a substitute for the sensitivity or specificity of the general population.
