Province-scale real-world programme evidence

Phetchabun Screens 97.3% for HCV; 96.4% of SVR12-Evaluable Patients Are Cured, but Transmission Elimination Is Unproven

Phetchabun’s micro-elimination programme linked fingerstick anti-HCV testing, HCV-RNA confirmation, and 12-week sofosbuvir/velpatasvir treatment through primary-care and district-hospital services across all 11 districts under universal health coverage. From 2020 to April 2026, 389,547 of 400,567 targeted people were screened (97.25%); 14,845 of 18,340 anti-HCV-reactive participants received RNA confirmation (80.94%), identifying 10,996 active infections. Of 8,961 treatment-eligible patients, 8,842 received therapy (98.67%); among 6,719 evaluated at SVR12, 6,474 were cured (96.35%). The programme demonstrates province-scale test-to-treat feasibility, but not yet the incidence or mortality reductions required for elimination.

Four Countries Have Antimicrobial-Stewardship Policies, but 16 Hospitals Average 72% Implementation and Training Lags

This study linked national policy, hospital systems, and provider behaviour in Indonesia, Nepal, Thailand, and Viet Nam during 2022–2023. It included 486 participants across 16 hospitals. All countries had antimicrobial-stewardship policies, but financing, enforcement, training, microbiology-data use, and inter-programme coordination were uneven. Hospitals averaged 72% on G-ASET, with tracking and reporting highest at 75% and training lowest at 66%. The two Thai hospitals scored 81.3% and 80.6% overall, yet both scored only 50% for training. These results identify actionable system gaps; they do not experimentally show that any intervention reduced antibiotic use, resistance, or mortality.

Twenty-Year Review Finds Zoonotic NTDs Remain Hidden in Laos and Cambodia as Diagnostics and Surveillance Stay Fragmented

The article synthesises publications and long-running surveillance at the animal–human interface in Laos and Cambodia, covering Taenia solium, Trichinella, Streptococcus suis, rickettsiae, melioidosis, hepatitis E, and Japanese encephalitis. Its recurring message is diagnostic invisibility caused by limited laboratories and fragmented human–animal–environment systems, with risks embedded in smallholder livestock, informal slaughter, raw-meat consumption, wet markets, and animal-contact occupations. It proposes scaling abattoir, animal-sentinel, market, and environmental surveillance alongside livelihood-aware risk communication. This is a narrative synthesis, not a systematic review or one national survey, so it maps patterns and gaps rather than estimating current national burden.

Surveillance of 13,386 Sumatra Cases Links Imported Malaria to Mobile Populations and Elimination to District Context

Using individual surveillance records from 2019–2021, this study examined both malaria case patterns and district factors associated with elimination across Sumatra. Of 13,386 reported cases, 71.8% were Plasmodium vivax; among 11,390 investigated cases, 15.3% were classified as imported. Multilevel models identified associations with mobile populations and clinical characteristics, while district elimination was associated with higher human development, lower historical burden, and fewer endemic neighbours. These are observational surveillance associations, not causal effects of a policy.

Review of 52 Studies Finds Low but Hidden Malaria Burden Among Mobile Populations in Mekong Border and Forest Areas

This synthesis mapped malaria evidence among migrant and mobile populations in the Greater Mekong Subregion across epidemiology, access, prevention, and health-system challenges. Of 847 records, 52 studies met inclusion criteria. Reported burden was generally low but highly variable, with hidden reservoirs from asymptomatic or submicroscopic infection in border and forest settings. Structural barriers contributed to delayed diagnosis, inconsistent prevention, and reliance on informal or cross-border care. The review exposes intervention-evaluation gaps rather than proving which approach works best.

Family cancer caregiver resilience: scoping review

This Joanna Briggs Institute–guided scoping review synthesised 50 studies of resilience among family caregivers across cancer types and stages of care. The evidence was organised into risk factors, protective factors, and psychosocial or functional outcomes. Measurement tools varied substantially, and few interventions designed to strengthen family resilience had been tested empirically.

From Control to Elimination: Making the End of Dental Caries Thinkable

Using the Dahlem Framework, this commentary distinguishes caries control, elimination, and eradication. Global eradication is judged conceptually unattainable because caries has no single agent, interruptible transmission cycle, vaccine, or universal incidence surveillance. Elimination as a stable end to caries as a public-health problem in a defined population is presented as a plausible, measurable goal.

From scarcity to impulse: how quantity and time constraints drive impulsive buying in blind box consumption in Thailand

A PLS-SEM analysis of 500 blind-box consumers in Thailand found that time scarcity was the strongest trigger of fear of missing out. Perceived hedonic excitement had almost twice the influence of FOMO on anticipatory arousal, which was strongly associated with impulsive buying. Self-control did not significantly moderate that relationship.

Mutual gains or hidden strains? Green HRM, role overload and work intensification in an emerging economy

Two-wave data from 306 employee–supervisor dyads in Thai firms reveal a dual effect of green HRM. It supports green behaviour by strengthening self-efficacy, but can also suppress it through role overload. Prevention focus intensified the overload pathway, while promotion focus did not amplify efficacy-based gains as expected.

Knowledge of inorganic nitrate dietary survey-2 (KINDS-2): a multinational cross-sectional study of nitrate knowledge, beliefs and purchasing behaviours in the general population and healthcare professionals

KINDS-2 surveyed 2,970 members of the public in the UK, USA, and Australia and 498 health professionals across 42 countries. Knowledge of dietary nitrate was low in both cohorts. Health professionals scored higher on the harmonised index, but identifying nitrate-rich foods remained a central weakness. Most respondents were willing to consume such foods when supported by evidence.

Characterization of Community-Scale Smokeless Biochar Production from Corncobs for Potential Soil Amendment and Climate-Smart Agriculture

A community-scale smokeless vertical kiln operating at 415–435 °C for 150–180 minutes yielded 23.3–28.3% corncob biochar. The product contained about 71% carbon, had a moderately alkaline pH and macroporous structure, and showed moderate stability indicators. Theoretical sequestration was estimated at 0.69–0.74 tCO2-eq per tonne of dry feedstock.

Cultural Authenticity and Sustainable Tourist Behavior in Nomadic Community-Based Tourism: Evidence from Mongolia

A survey of 300 Chinese visitors to nomadic community-based tourism in Mongolia found that cultural authenticity strengthened experiential value, place attachment, and satisfaction. Sustainable behaviour was linked primarily through meaningful experience and emotional attachment, while satisfaction alone had no significant effect, supporting an S–O–R pathway.

Building sustainable workplaces: The role of organizational climate and recognition on employee task performance in Vietnamese SMEsThis research aims to study the relationships between Organizational Climate and Task Performance through Organizational Recognition in the context of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Da Nang, Vietnam. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) is used to examine the direct and indirect (mediated) relationships among the independent variables, the mediator, and the dependent variable. The population of this study is individual employees in SMEs; 402 respondents were obtained through a convenience and volunteer sampling method. The empirical results demonstrated an excellent model fit. The path analysis revealed that all four dimensions of Organizational Climate had significant positive direct effects on Organizational Recognition (p < 0.001), and that Organizational Recognition was significantly associated with Task Performance. Bootstrap analysis with 5000 resamples and bias-corrected 95 % confidence intervals indicated that all four indirect effects through Organizational Recognition were statistically significant. Standard of Work was fully mediated by Organizational Recognition, whereas Organizational Structure, Responsibility, and Commitment were partially mediated, retaining significant direct associations with Task Performance. These results suggest that, in the SME context of Da Nang, Organizational Recognition is an important mechanism through which a supportive climate is associated with employee performance. The study provides insights for SME management seeking to strengthen recognition practices as part of a more humane and socially sustainable work environment.
