Biorefinery application of Rhodopseudomonas faecalis PA2 for co-production of carotenoids and hydrogen from coconut residue

Repeated-batch cultivation of Rhodopseudomonas faecalis PA2 converts coconut-residue filtrate into carotenoid-rich biomass and hydrogen under different light strategies. Laboratory cost estimates need full feedstock, recovery, lighting and scale-up accounting.

Nanoscale Interfacial Carbon Engineering Coupled with Solvent-Directed Growth of SnS 2 for Enhanced Sodium-Ion Storage Kinetics

Solvent-directed growth creates vertically aligned SnS2 nanosheets, while polydopamine-derived carbon improves conductivity and buffers volume change for sodium storage. Full cells, practical mass loading and scalable manufacturing remain to be demonstrated.

Multilevel Determinants of Engagement in Lifelong Learning in Orthodontics From Formal to AI-Supported Approaches: Development of a Conceptual Framework Through a Qualitative Study

Semi-structured interviews with 16 orthodontic professionals build a multilevel framework of motivations, barriers and enablers for lifelong learning, including AI-supported approaches. The small qualitative framework needs quantitative and cross-context validation.

A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis of the Global Prevalence of Dry Mouth in Older Adults

This systematic review and meta-analysis separates subjective xerostomia from objectively measured salivary-gland hypofunction in representative populations aged 50 or older. Diagnostic criteria, age structure, medication and comorbidity still drive substantial heterogeneity.

Efficacy and safety of tezepelumab versus placebo in reducing oral corticosteroid use in adults with severe, oral corticosteroid-dependent asthma (SUNRISE): a multicentre, placebo-controlled, double-blind, phase 3 trial

SUNRISE is a double-blind phase 3 trial across 63 sites in 12 countries testing whether tezepelumab reduces maintenance oral corticosteroids while preserving asthma control. Interpretation should integrate overall and eosinophil subgroups, exacerbations and safety.

Empowered Smiles Through Education and Motivation (e-SEM): A Theory-Driven Digital Oral Health Behaviour Intervention

e-SEM applies the information-motivation-behavioural-skills model to culturally tailored modules, animation, parent content and skills tools, followed by expert content validation. Development validity does not yet show fewer caries or sustained behaviour change.

Protocol for assessing anti-Siglec-9 antibody-mediated tumor phagocytosis by macrophages using pH-sensitive dyes and flow cytometry

The protocol standardises monocyte isolation, macrophage differentiation, K562 preparation and pH-sensitive flow cytometry to distinguish binding from internalisation. It improves mechanistic reproducibility but does not demonstrate patient efficacy or safety.

Artificial intelligence for urodynamic studies: systematic review of methods, performance, and clinical applications

A PRISMA-guided review searches four databases and groups AI for urodynamics into parameter-, raw-signal- and image-based approaches. Small datasets, bias and limited external validation prevent a conclusion that these tools are deployment-ready.

Global observational analysis

Global data suggest faults enhance erosion through rock damage extending up to about 100 kilometers

Fault-driven uplift is known, but this study asks whether damaged rock also erodes more efficiently. A global dataset of 1,744 cosmogenic beryllium-10 erosion rates showed elevated efficiency within about 15 km of faults, decaying to roughly 100 km. Reverse faults and faults longer than 140 km had the strongest effects. The range beyond fault cores suggests fracturing, seismic shaking or distributed deformation. Machine learning ranked fault proximity above precipitation and lithology, especially with a shaking metric.

Persistent high-density E. coli ST131 carriers may sustain household transmission

E. coli ST131 drives community multidrug-resistant extraintestinal infection. A prospective Singapore household cohort enrolled 17 prior ST131 and 17 other E. coli index patients plus coresidents, with serial stool from 135 people, six pets and environmental swabs from 34 households. Nine persistent high-density carriers had ST131 comprising 57.79% of E. coli isolates and median carriage of 86.35 days. Carrier and coresident isolates were a median two SNPs apart, and carriers had greater diversity, suggesting potential reservoir and source roles.
