MIF ‐ MAPMS: Enhancing identification of myelin autoantigenic peptides in multiple sclerosis through multimodal information fusion

Thai researchers developed MIF-MAPMS to classify candidate myelin autoantigenic peptides in multiple sclerosis by fusing peptide sequences, SMILES, descriptors, fingerprints and biomolecular-model embeddings. It improved MCC on benchmark and independent tests and released code/data, but remains an in-silico screen without T-cell or patient validation.

Bio-Based Wood Adhesives: Current Advances in Polymer Architecture and Structure–Property–Sustainability Integration

This review synthesises protein-, carbohydrate-, lignin- and tannin-derived wood adhesives, arguing that functional-group density, crosslinking efficiency and network topology govern performance. Hybrid networks may reduce hydrophilicity and strengthen bonding, while sustainability depends on biogenic carbon and lower fossil crosslinker use. The abstract does not describe a systematic review or meta-analysis.

A Two-Parameter Geometric Model for Volume Estimation and Grade Classification of ISA Brown Eggs

A two-parameter egg-shape equation using only maximum length and width was tested on 120 ISA Brown eggs against fluid-displacement volume. Initial MAPE was 6.02%, reduced to 3.09% with a closed-form correction. Two-measurement grading rules reached 92.0-93.3% cross-validated accuracy, but external and cross-breed validation is absent.

Factors Related to the Outcomes of Secondary Alveolar Cleft Bone Grafting Using Two-Dimensional Radiographic Analysis: A Retrospective Study

A retrospective review of 63 cleft patients undergoing secondary alveolar bone grafting at Prince of Songkla University in 2013-2023 found age and cleft type associated with two-dimensional radiographic success. Patients aged 10-12 and those with unilateral clefts had higher success. These are single-centre associations without three-dimensional assessment.

Observer-Based H∞ Control for Uncertain Neutral Systems with Distributed Delays

This mathematical study proposes observer-based control for uncertain neutral systems with distributed delays. An observer estimates inaccessible states, integral sliding-mode control addresses disturbances, and delay-dependent stability conditions are expressed as linear matrix inequalities. Numerical examples support feasibility, but no physical system was tested.

Prospective Randomized Clinical Trial of Accelerated Re-Epithelialization of Split-Thickness Skin Graft Donor Sites Using Injectable Platelet-Rich Fibrin (I-PRF)

A randomised trial in 30 split-thickness skin-graft patients compared injectable platelet-rich fibrin plus paraffin gauze with paraffin gauze alone. Mean complete epithelialisation time was identical at 11.9 days and epithelial thickness did not differ significantly. A single I-PRF application showed no benefit under these conditions.

Vestibular Balance and Fall Screening72IMPACT SIGNAL
Evidence of global relevance

Diagnostic accuracy of the Mini-Balance Evaluation Systems Test (Mini-BESTest) in screening for fall risk among individuals with vestibular disorders

Among 42 people with vestibular disorders, Mini-BESTest had poor-to-modest discrimination for fall risk (AUC 0.69). A cut-off of ≤23 yielded 92.3% sensitivity but 44.8% specificity, potentially missing few at-risk patients while producing many false positives. It should not be used as a stand-alone diagnosis.

Microwave-Assisted Conversion of Low-Rank Lignite into Hierarchical Activated Carbon: Molecular Insights into Efficient Post-Combustion CO2 Capture

Thai researchers used microwave-assisted KOH activation to convert low-rank Mae Moh lignite into activated carbon with 1,349 m2/g surface area. Under 15% CO2 at 1 atm, equilibrium capacity was 47.34 mg/g at 298 K and declined with temperature. Performance remained stable over six laboratory cycles, but process sustainability and economics remain unproven.

Comparative Oncologic Outcomes between Emergency and Elective Surgery in Colon Cancer Patients in Suratthani Hospital: A Retrospective Cohort Study

A retrospective cohort of 191 colon-cancer patients operated on in 2016-2020 found worse five-year overall survival among 87 emergency versus 104 elective cases (adjusted HR 1.58), with perforation carrying HR 2.85. The findings reflect disease severity and baseline differences as well as care pathway; they do not show that emergency surgery itself caused all excess risk.

A new mamenchisaurid sauropod from the Lower Phu Kradung Formation, Upper Jurassic of northeastern Thailand

Palaeontologists describe Uragasaurus kalasinensis, a new genus and species from the lower Phu Kradung Formation of northeastern Thailand. A well-preserved anterior dorsal vertebra, including CT-visible internal pneumatic structure, supports an early-diverging mamenchisaurid placement. It is the first formally named mamenchisaurid from Thailand, although the holotype evidence is centred on a single vertebra.

Pathogen Genomics and Dairy Health72IMPACT SIGNAL

Recombination, mobile genetic elements, and genetic transfer contribute to the adaptation of Streptococcus uberis causing mastitis

Whole-genome analysis of 138 S. uberis isolates from three Thai dairy herds identified 42 core-genome sequence types and abundant mobile elements. The herd with the highest antimicrobial-resistance gene prevalence had a recombination-to-mutation ratio of 4.42 and more AMR-associated mobile elements. Some prophages were over 99% similar to phages infecting other genera, providing genomic signals of ecological genetic exchange.

Safety, Tolerability, and Gut Microbiota Impact of Sericin-Derived Oligopeptides (SDOs) from Yellow Silk Cocoons in Healthy Adults: A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Trial

A Phase 0 randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial assigned 42 healthy adults to placebo or 0.9 or 1.8 g/day of sericin-derived oligopeptides for eight weeks. No serious adverse events occurred, major clinical measures did not differ between groups and overall microbiota structure remained stable. This supports preliminary short-term tolerability, not metabolic efficacy.
