Long‐term adverse cardiovascular changes induced by cocoa shell extract administration through lactation in fetal undernourished and control rats

A rat experiment tested lactation as a developmental reprogramming window by giving dams, whose offspring had or had not experienced fetal undernutrition, cocoa-shell extract at 250 mg/kg/day. Although adult undernourished offspring had lower blood pressure, several groups developed adverse cardiac function, vascular relaxation and arterial-wall changes.

Weed Seed Detection in Plant Quarantine: Practices and Emerging Molecular Technologies

This review surveys weed-seed detection in plant quarantine, from morphology and germination to DNA-based tools. Dormancy, resemblance to crop seed and zero-tolerance thresholds make detection difficult. Molecular methods may reduce ambiguity, but require reference libraries, performance validation and workable port-of-entry workflows.

Two new species and one new record of Perennicordyceps (Polycephalomycetaceae, Hypocreales) from China

Researchers describe two new Perennicordyceps species and one new host record from China using morphology and multilocus phylogeny across nrLSU, ITS, nrSSU, tef-1α, rpb1 and rpb2. The new taxa formed supported lineages and expand knowledge of insect- and fungus-associated members of the genus.

Semantic Extension and Grammaticalization of SAME in Korean Sign Language (KSL) and Korean

A linguistic comparison traces semantic extension and grammaticalisation of SAME in Korean Sign Language and kath- in spoken Korean. Both move from identity toward correctness, evidential inference and mitigation, while spoken Korean extends to similarity and KSL does not because an iconic SIMILAR sign already occupies that function.

Exploring the potential of cognitive intra-individual variability in HIV care and research in adults with HIV: a concept analysis

A Rodgers evolutionary concept analysis examined 22 articles to clarify cognitive intra-individual variability, or inconsistency in one person's cognitive performance, in adults with HIV. IIV may be sensitive to change beyond some mean scores, but it is not yet a diagnostic test and has no ready clinical cut-off.

EPECT: An Eigenvalue-Guided Positional Encoding Classification Transformer for Cross-Subject EEG-fNIRS Decoding

EPECT combines convolution, positional encoding and eigenvalue-guided attention to classify motor-imagery and cognitive tasks from EEG-fNIRS. Across two public datasets under leave-one-subject-out evaluation, reported accuracies ranged from 96.3% to 98.1%, with ablation and integrated-gradients analyses. These were research datasets, not real rehabilitation patients.

Effect of hybrid nano-fillers on the mechanical, thermal and viscoelastic properties of epoxy-based polymer composites for progressive applications

Epoxy composites containing a total of 1 wt% silica, alumina and carbon black at 1:1, 1:4 and 4:1 ratios, with surface-treated fillers, showed up to an 18°C rise in glass-transition temperature and a 22-42°C rise in the 5% degradation temperature. These remain laboratory-coupon results.

Looped Homology Theory of Weighted Graphs

The study defines looped homology for weighted reflexive graphs with parameter r>0 through the categorical graph product. It proves a discrete Mayer-Vietoris exact sequence and Eilenberg-Steenrod axioms, gives examples detecting n-dimensional holes, and shows results can differ from singular homology of the induced topological space.

Superiority of long-term outcomes of EUS-guided gastroenterostomy over endoscopic stenting for the palliation of malignant gastric outlet obstruction: A prospective cohort study

A single-centre prospective cohort of 152 patients with unresectable malignant gastric-outlet obstruction compared endoscopic stenting (76) with EUS-guided gastroenterostomy (76). EUS-GE was associated with fewer reinterventions, longer patency and better oral-intake scores, with similar success and adverse events, but treatment was not randomised.

Epidemiological characteristics of amebiasis in Japan from 2001 to 2022

An analysis of Japan's 2001-2022 amebiasis notifications found domestically acquired male cases rising before 2018, falling sharply during 2018-2020, and showing no significant post-2020 change. Reports concentrated among men in their 40s-50s and metropolitan areas, but surveillance data cannot determine whether behaviour, testing or reporting caused the shift.

Effects of Accent and Vowel Context on Thai Learners’ Perception of English Dental Fricatives

A speech-perception experiment examined how Thai learners distinguish English /θ/ and /ð/ from nearby categories across accents and vowel contexts. American and Philippine stimuli were generally identified more accurately; /ð/ was often assimilated to /d/, while /θ/ was heard as /f/ or /t/. The findings support exposure to accent diversity rather than one prestige model.

The impact of college students’ dual filial piety on filial practice: the mediating roles of filial perception and parent–child relationship

A survey of 821 college students in Guizhou found reciprocal filial piety indirectly associated with filial practice through better parent-child relationships and filial perception. Authoritarian filial piety related to lower practice through poorer relationships. Direct effects were non-significant, and the cross-sectional design cannot establish temporal mediation.
