Antibiotic growth promoter exposure reshapes gut microbiome ecology and physiological responses in Thai native chickens

An experiment in 80 Thai native crossbred chickens compared a basal diet with 0.05% chlortetracycline for 12 weeks. Growth, ADG, and FCR did not improve, while LDL and AST rose, intestinal histology changed, and cecal microbiota shifted toward a pattern interpreted as dysbiosis.

Soil salinity modulates fatty acid composition and antioxidant capacity of rice bran oil

Field sampling along the Siao Yai River in northeastern Thailand compared bran oil from glutinous RD6 and non-glutinous KDML105 across salinity-affected sites. Higher salinity was associated with more unsaturated lipid profiles, carotenoids, and antioxidant activity, without a detected oil-yield difference.

Unifying the hallmarks of major depression through neuroimmune–metabolic–oxidative (NIMETOX) dysregulation: a mechanistic systems framework

This mechanistic review integrates three decades of work into a neuroimmune-metabolic-oxidative framework linking immune activation, tryptophan, iron and lipid metabolism, oxidative stress, and reduced neuroprotection in severe major depression.

Primaquine-derived 5,6-orthoquinone concentrations in urine associated with CYP2D6 genotype-predicted phenotype and blood methemoglobin levels

An analysis of 48 Indonesian malaria patients examined CYP2D6 genotype-predicted phenotype, urinary primaquine-derived 5,6-orthoquinone, and methemoglobin. Intermediate metabolizers had lower metabolite concentrations, and the metabolite correlated positively with day-two methemoglobin.

Assessment of thermomechanical properties of CFRP laminates reinforced with nano-graphene, with and without phenol addition

This experiment combines 2 wt% nano-graphene with a phenol surface coating in carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer laminates fabricated by vacuum impingement to improve interfaces, reduce voids, and enhance mechanical and thermal properties.

Three-Dimensional Palatal Morphology and Obstructive Sleep Apnea Severity in Children with Unilateral Cleft Lip and Palate: A CBCT Study

CBCT analysis of 40 Thai children with non-syndromic unilateral cleft lip and palate compared 20 with versus 20 without OSA. Palatal area, volume, height, and one width measure were smaller in OSA, and volume was the only independently associated variable with AHI in this sample.

Mid-gestational luteal insufficiency in predisposed dog breeds: Retrospective evaluation of medroxyprogesterone acetate therapy and timed-withdrawal in 29 pregnancies

A retrospective review of 29 pregnancies in 25 bitches diagnosed with hypoluteodism and treated with low-dose medroxyprogesterone plus withdrawal 24-48 hours before cesarean found 79.3% progesterone decline in weeks 5-6 and 86.2% term maintenance, without an untreated comparison.

Associations between liking patterns for foods characterised by high/low fat content and sweet/savoury profiles and health outcomes: findings from the UK Biobank prospective cohort study

A prospective UK Biobank cohort of 182,181 participants examined five food-liking patterns against mortality, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. High-fat savory or sweet liking was associated with some higher risks, while low-fat savory or sweet patterns were associated with some lower risks.

Microbial diversity, functional potential, and antimicrobial resistance across soil depth in fire-affected rotational shifting cultivation soils

Metagenomic analysis of fire-affected rotational-cultivation soils in northern Thailand compares charcoal-mixed surface (0-2 cm), leaching (10-20 cm), and deep (100 cm) layers. Microbial composition and functional genes stratified strongly by depth, and resistance genes persisted without obvious clinical inputs.
