Ethical tensions related to over-the-counter antibiotic use in rural Cambodia: a qualitative study
Thirty in-depth interviews in Siem Pang district, northeastern Cambodia, showed that over-the-counter antibiotic use reflects cost, distance, convenience, urgent household needs, and dispensers' economic pressures as well as limited knowledge. Participants balanced immediate access against safety and household benefit against collective antimicrobial-resistance risks. Qualitative evidence explains context rather than prevalence or causation.

The multicentre survey analysed 604 patients from 25 Thai hospitals between December 2023 and March 2024. SSRIs accounted for 70.2% of prescriptions, followed by TCAs at 13.9% and trazodone at 12.7%. The most common diagnoses were depressive disorders (55.0%), substance use disorders (15.2%) and psychotic disorders (13.7%). A post hoc analysis of the DEN-301 placebo arm followed 30,620.6 person-years, identifying 560 virologically confirmed dengue cases among 9,698 febrile illnesses; 142 cases, or 25.4%, were hospitalized.
A 20-year-old man on automated peritoneal dialysis developed vague abdominal symptoms, weight loss and declining ultrafiltration. Repeated dialysate cultures, acid-fast staining and molecular tests were negative despite mononuclear-predominant leukocytosis. Contrast CT identified peritoneal nodules, CT peritoneography showed a trapped dialysate pocket, and targeted biopsy demonstrated necrotising granulomatous inflammation. Tissue culture grew M. kansasii resistant to rifampicin, moxifloxacin and ciprofloxacin.
HITAP reviewed 278 HTA capacity-strengthening activities in 25 countries from 2010 to mid-2025. Asia accounted for 151 activities and 128 engagements were programmatic rather than ad hoc. Knowledge sharing represented 26% and research or project collaboration 21%. Among 11 African partner countries, only three had programmatic engagement, accounting for 30 activities.

An eight-country perspective argues that telemedicine, wearables and home sensors, augmented AI and mobile health can distribute expertise, observe symptoms between visits and support self-management, particularly where neurologists are scarce. Impact depends on infrastructure, interoperability, workforce, governance and equity-first hybrid care, not devices alone.

Ten Asia-Pacific experts developed 11 consensus statements on mild traumatic brain injury and use of GFAP/UCH-L1 within 12 hours. Final agreement was 90-100%, emphasizing biomarkers as adjuncts while clinical assessment and locally available imaging remain central.
RGD-functionalized cannabidiol lipid nanoparticles increased cellular uptake threefold and in-vitro BBB transport by 65%, while reducing inflammatory and oxidative markers. In a preclinical Alzheimer's model, cognition, Aβ/tau pathology, metabolism and gut-barrier indicators improved. The findings are promising but not evidence in patients.
Researchers used the UNDRR Stop Disasters online game with students, water professionals and community members in Thailand and Malaysia. A post-game survey of 35 participants found high enjoyment, lively interaction and perceived reinforcement of declarative flood-management knowledge.
