In a 38-patient randomised trial, thoracoscopic talc poudrage plus an indwelling pleural catheter achieved 89.5% 12-week pleurodesis versus 68.4% with talc alone and met the non-inferiority criterion. Median stay was one versus four days.

Acute heart failure in a tertiary emergency department in Thailand: clinical characteristics and factors associated with in-hospital mortality

Among 902 acute-heart-failure patients in Srinagarind Hospital's emergency department, in-hospital mortality was 6.0%. After adjustment, the need for inotropic support was the only independently associated factor, with an adjusted odds ratio of 3.97.
