Outcome-Based Language Teaching in EMI Listening: Balancing Accountability With Ungraded Supports for Low-Proficiency Learners

A three-year reform of an EMI listening course involving 533 low-proficiency STEM students found that graded accountability alone was insufficient. Adding collaborative, voluntary, and reflective ungraded supports coincided with lower failure risk, sustained voluntary engagement, and stronger strategic awareness. Cohort-based reform does not prove that the supports caused the changes.

Set Prediction for Outpatient Diagnosis Coding with Sparse Mahalanobis Conformal Scoring

Sparse Mahalanobis Conformal Scoring was evaluated on approximately eight million outpatient visits and up to 12,829 diagnosis labels. It achieved Micro-F1 close to the strongest threshold comparator and the highest exact-match ratio among flexible-size rules, while retaining smaller regions and fewer labels than other nonconformity scores. This supports coding assistance, not unattended automated coding.

Aquatic-Weed Biochar and Stevia76IMPACT SIGNAL

Invasive Asian water moss (Salvinia cucullata) biochar modulates selected steviol glycoside biosynthesis-related gene expression and drought-associated physiological responses in Stevia

A Chiang Mai University greenhouse study found that Salvinia cucullata biochar was associated with higher KAH and UGT76G1 expression, modestly lower UGT74G1, reduced stevioside, and relatively stable rebaudioside A. Plant architecture changed under selected drought conditions, but leaf area, total biomass, and root weight did not consistently improve, indicating profile modulation rather than proven yield enhancement.

Proteomic profiling of isolated mouse endometrial epithelial cells reveals coordinated redox and endoplasmic reticulum stress-associated pathways during uterine receptivity

Comparing isolated mouse endometrial epithelial cells on pregnancy days 1 and 4, researchers found 80 differentially expressed spots among approximately 674 and identified 52 proteins. Day 4 showed coordinated antioxidant and ER-stress-associated increases, with Gstm2 elevated at protein and transcript levels. This is a candidate pathway map, not proof that Gstm2 controls human implantation.

The effectiveness of pulpotomy in mature permanent posterior teeth with irreversible pulpitis: a systematic review and meta-analysis

A systematic review of 23 randomised studies estimated 12-month success at 0.92 for full pulpotomy and 0.89 for partial pulpotomy in mature permanent posterior teeth with irreversible pulpitis. Intention-to-treat two-arm comparisons favoured full pulpotomy (OR 1.85), but GRADE certainty was low to very low and evidence beyond 12 months was less certain.

Feasibility of Integrating Music Therapy into Routine Speech-Language Rehabilitation for Post-Stroke Aphasia: A Real-World Outpatient Study

A Thai quasi-experimental outpatient study found that a manualised music-therapy protocol could be delivered alongside speech-language therapy. Both groups improved within group; the augmented group showed numerically larger language gains, but between-group differences were not significant. Because it also received more total therapy time, modality-specific effectiveness cannot be inferred.

Marine Protected Areas in Thailand: A Legal Study of Compliance with International Obligations

A legal analysis found that Thailand has multiple laws supporting marine protected-area conservation, but lacks key elements of climate-resilient MPAs: clear protection-level criteria, connected networks, and binding cross-agency coordination. It recommends that the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources lead reform aligned with international obligations.

Board Governance and Firm Resilience to Climate Risk: Evidence From the Thailand Flood Crisis

Panel data comprising 1,060 firm-years from 421 non-financial Thai listed firms in 2010-2012 showed lower profitability during the 2011 flood and continued weakness in the following year. Board size had no unconditional direct effect, but interaction results suggested that larger boards partially cushioned profitability during the acute crisis only, not during recovery.

Metabolic disruption associated with e-cigarette vaping and secondhand exposure: Urinary metabolomics evidence from a Thai population

A Thai urinary-metabolomics study compared active e-cigarette users, people exposed to secondhand aerosol, and unexposed controls. Direct use was associated with amino-acid, mitochondrial-energy, and glutathione pathways, while secondhand exposure was linked mainly to alanine-aspartate-glutamate metabolism. These are biological-response associations, not proof that exposure caused disease.

Anticoccidial Efficacy of Solid-Dispersion Formulations Containing Curcuma longa and Piper longum Extracts Against Eimeria tenella Infection in Broiler Chickens

In a Chiang Mai University experiment involving 74 broilers challenged with Eimeria tenella, solid-dispersion turmeric and long-pepper formulations damaged oocyst structure and reduced lesions and oocyst shedding in selected groups. Long pepper at 6 g/kg feed showed favourable growth in this experiment, but small groups and unreplicated pen-level feed data prevent claims that the products can replace farm anticoccidials.

Adaptive Fusion of Bug Report Titles and Descriptions for Automated Bug Severity Classification in Software Maintenance

Adaptive Title-Description Fusion separately encoded bug-report titles and descriptions and learned their relative contribution. On five-class Mozilla Bugzilla data it achieved Macro-F1 0.771, compared with 0.756 for standard gated fusion and 0.739 for direct concatenation. The result supports adaptive fusion but does not establish cross-project generalisation or real maintenance impact.

Estimated Dietary Lead Exposure Through Aquatic Animal Consumption and Health Symptoms in a Lake-Dependent Community: Evidence from Nong Han Lake, Northeast Thailand

In a cross-sectional Nong Han Lake study, lead in three aquatic species was below the 0.3 mg/kg limit and median estimated intake was 0.1004 µg/kg body weight/day. Although musculoskeletal symptoms were common, estimated dietary lead intake was not associated with symptoms after adjustment (aOR 1.30; p=0.450), so the symptoms should not be attributed to lead in aquatic foods.
