WHO estimates of the global, regional, and national burden of 42 foodborne infectious and chemical hazards, 2000-21: an updated data synthesis
The WHO's updated data synthesis assessed the burden of 42 foodborne pathogens and chemicals, covering 194 countries, and involved researchers from Khon Kaen University on an international panel.
A hammer-and-plate source and professional seismic recorder let learners identify P, S and surface waves and triangulate an epicentre. Five trials averaged 0.6 m error using an averaged site velocity structure.
Researchers built an 8.65-million-word Language Education Research Corpus from ten Q1 journals and derived a word list covering 5.28% of the source corpus and 4.75% of an independent corpus.
Knockout-mouse experiments indicate that the CCL20–CCR6 axis has a dominant role in IL-17-driven psoriasiform inflammation but a more limited role in papain-induced type 2 inflammation.
This PRISMA systematic review included 69 studies from 4,572 records published between 2000 and 2022, examining infections among refugees, internally displaced people and residents of underserved neighbourhoods. Respiratory disease was reported most often, followed by hepatitis B, diarrhoeal disease, parasitic infection and HIV. These counts describe the literature's reporting frequency, not directly comparable population prevalence.
Interviews with 15 ICU professionals at one Chinese tertiary hospital identified four prone-position-specific barriers to enteral nutrition: conflict between airway priorities and feeding schedules, additional equipment and monitoring demands, lack of targeted training, and coordination problems. The findings can inform workflow design but do not measure complications or patient outcomes.
Among 24 captive elephants in Surin, six with minimal supplementation and 18 with frequent heterogeneous supplementation showed no alpha-diversity or main beta-diversity difference (Bray-Curtis R²=0.053, p=.092). After FDR, only Caldisericota differed; LEfSe highlighted Prevotellaceae.
The framework selected 16 representative provinces from 77 using balanced additive weighting, then applied CCR two-stage DEA to benchmark transformations from investment, tourism and demographics through energy, factories and vehicles to GPP and air-quality indicators.
This conceptual paper critiques transport decarbonization strategies that over-rely on coordination, optimization and prediction. Drawing on wu-wei, qi and yin-yang, it proposes governance as attunement to mobility systems that are emergent, contested and continually changing.
The article systematises a 40-instrument Isan orchestra without Western instruments, covering folk-melody motifs, counterpoint, polyphony, voice-leading, orchestration grids and seating for acoustic balance.
Survey and financial data from 179 Thai SMEs in 2021–2023 were modeled with XGBoost to distinguish internationally integrated from domestic-oriented firms. Internationalized SMEs showed configurations of financial agility, profitability, disciplined leverage, resource efficiency, international experience, team readiness, market knowledge and institutional connectivity.
The study assembled 1,097 chest radiographs from five institutions and 3,117 interpretations by six NIOSH-certified B readers. Participants were at least 15 years old, while people with HIV or opportunistic infection were excluded. Readings were compared with sputum smear, culture or molecular reference tests. Sixty-nine per cent of interpretations were abnormal; 87% of these were TB cases, while 83% of unremarkable readings were non-TB.
In 75 infants deliberately selected as G6PD deficient, intermediate or normal (25 each), the quantitative STANDARD G6PD test agreed closely with spectrophotometry and supported capillary testing through the first week using cord-blood thresholds. Enzyme activity declined at one and four months, and intermediate female infants may require age-specific interpretation.
