Perspectives on the forest bioeconomy: insights of stakeholders from cases in Central Europe and the Mekong region

This comparative study examines how 336 purposively recruited respondents in Czechia, Slovakia, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam understand and assess the forest bioeconomy. Respondents generally reported stronger familiarity with sustainable forest management and the circular economy than with the bioeconomy itself. Perceptions also varied across country cases, particularly within the Mekong region. A binary logistic regression identified associations between high perceived implementation and country, age, education, understanding of policy aims, support for implementation and positive assessments of forest-industry implementation. These findings describe perceptions within the recruited sample rather than national populations, and the reported associations should not be interpreted as causal effects.

Family cancer caregiver resilience: scoping review

This Joanna Briggs Institute–guided scoping review synthesised 50 studies of resilience among family caregivers across cancer types and stages of care. The evidence was organised into risk factors, protective factors, and psychosocial or functional outcomes. Measurement tools varied substantially, and few interventions designed to strengthen family resilience had been tested empirically.

From Control to Elimination: Making the End of Dental Caries Thinkable

Using the Dahlem Framework, this commentary distinguishes caries control, elimination, and eradication. Global eradication is judged conceptually unattainable because caries has no single agent, interruptible transmission cycle, vaccine, or universal incidence surveillance. Elimination as a stable end to caries as a public-health problem in a defined population is presented as a plausible, measurable goal.

From scarcity to impulse: how quantity and time constraints drive impulsive buying in blind box consumption in Thailand

A PLS-SEM analysis of 500 blind-box consumers in Thailand found that time scarcity was the strongest trigger of fear of missing out. Perceived hedonic excitement had almost twice the influence of FOMO on anticipatory arousal, which was strongly associated with impulsive buying. Self-control did not significantly moderate that relationship.

Mutual gains or hidden strains? Green HRM, role overload and work intensification in an emerging economy

Two-wave data from 306 employee–supervisor dyads in Thai firms reveal a dual effect of green HRM. It supports green behaviour by strengthening self-efficacy, but can also suppress it through role overload. Prevention focus intensified the overload pathway, while promotion focus did not amplify efficacy-based gains as expected.

Knowledge of inorganic nitrate dietary survey-2 (KINDS-2): a multinational cross-sectional study of nitrate knowledge, beliefs and purchasing behaviours in the general population and healthcare professionals

KINDS-2 surveyed 2,970 members of the public in the UK, USA, and Australia and 498 health professionals across 42 countries. Knowledge of dietary nitrate was low in both cohorts. Health professionals scored higher on the harmonised index, but identifying nitrate-rich foods remained a central weakness. Most respondents were willing to consume such foods when supported by evidence.

Characterization of Community-Scale Smokeless Biochar Production from Corncobs for Potential Soil Amendment and Climate-Smart Agriculture

A community-scale smokeless vertical kiln operating at 415–435 °C for 150–180 minutes yielded 23.3–28.3% corncob biochar. The product contained about 71% carbon, had a moderately alkaline pH and macroporous structure, and showed moderate stability indicators. Theoretical sequestration was estimated at 0.69–0.74 tCO2-eq per tonne of dry feedstock.

Cultural Authenticity and Sustainable Tourist Behavior in Nomadic Community-Based Tourism: Evidence from Mongolia

A survey of 300 Chinese visitors to nomadic community-based tourism in Mongolia found that cultural authenticity strengthened experiential value, place attachment, and satisfaction. Sustainable behaviour was linked primarily through meaningful experience and emotional attachment, while satisfaction alone had no significant effect, supporting an S–O–R pathway.

Integrated Techno-Economic, Environmental Screening, and Social Return on Investment Analysis of Community-Scale Sawdust–Polypropylene Co-Pyrolysis for Heavy-Metal Adsorbent Production in Rural Area, Thailand

A scenario-based assessment examined sawdust–polypropylene co-pyrolysis at 500 °C for community heavy-metal adsorbent production. Estimated capital expenditure was THB 46,000 and unit cost THB 316/kg, below referenced commercial activated carbon. The base social-return ratio was 1.39:1, while the hybrid scenario still produced a positive net balance of 3.082 kg CO2e/kg.

The Role of Community-Based Heritage Tourism in Advancing Sustainable Development Goals Among Nomadic Communities in Mongolia

PLS-SEM analysis of 250 international tourists in Mongolia found that heritage interpretation and tourism management supported cultural-identity preservation. Community participation, tourism management, and preserved identity were associated with sustainable development, with identity partially mediating the management–sustainability relationship.

Enhancing Legal Literacy and Active Citizenship Through Gamified Creative Learning in Higher Education

A quasi-experimental study of 40 undergraduates compared a four-week legal-literacy programme combining creativity-based learning and gamification with a control condition. Post-test and short-term follow-up results showed higher legal literacy and active-citizenship scores in the intervention group, alongside greater reported civic responsibility and social participation.

Automated Sentiment Intelligence for Educational Quality Assurance: A Topic–Sentiment Framework for Thai Student Feedback with Deep Model Instantiations

The Automated Sentiment Intelligence framework converted Thai student comments into four topic domains and three sentiment classes. From 4,145 records, 2,873 remained after preprocessing. XLM-R outperformed the BiLSTM implementation, reaching 0.922 topic accuracy and 0.80 sentiment accuracy, with clearer gains on neutral and negative feedback.
