Phase 3 non-inferiority evidence

Single-dose oral zoliflodacin was non-inferior to ceftriaxone plus azithromycin for urogenital gonorrhoea

A phase 3 open-label trial at 17 clinics in five countries including Thailand randomized people aged 12+ with suspected uncomplicated urogenital gonorrhoea 2:1 to single oral zoliflodacin 3 g (621) or IM ceftriaxone 500 mg plus oral azithromycin 1 g (309). Day 6±2 microbiological cure in microbiological ITT was 90.9% (460/506) versus 96.2% (229/238). The comparator-minus-zoliflodacin difference was 5.3%, with upper 95% CI 8.6%, below the 12% margin. Events were mostly mild/moderate and no serious events occurred.

Theoretical Cosmology71IMPACT SIGNAL
Theoretical model requiring tests

Periodic fractional-action gravity permits cyclic cosmology, with observational support still unclear

The study combines fractional-action cosmology with nonlinear periodic modified gravity in a flat FRW universe. Weighted Friedmann equations define curvature-driven acceleration, with Ricci-scalar oscillations driving expansion-contraction cycles and a fractional parameter controlling amplitude and period. Positive effective coupling and nonnegative scalaron mass support stability for small deviations. Possible star-formation, galaxy, cluster, CMB and primordial-wave signatures are proposed. However, key formulas are missing from the indexed abstract and MCMC/Hubble constraints named in the title are not reported there.

Systematic review and meta-analysis

Low social support is associated with edentulism and irregular dental care after age 75

A PRISMA review searched Medline, Embase and CENTRAL through November 2025 and included 40 studies of adults 75+. Low functional support, or fewer people to rely on, was associated with edentulism (OR 1.21) and irregular dental service use (OR 1.20). Low structural support in living conditions related to edentulism (OR 1.34) and lacking functional dentition (OR 1.41). Other function, behavior and quality-of-life outcomes were sparse and heterogeneous, supporting psychosocial assessment in care planning.

Systematic review and meta-analysis

Polypharmacy is associated with roughly twice the odds of dry mouth after age 75

A review screened 3,433 records through April 2025 and included 23 studies: 21 cross-sectional and two cohorts of adults 75+. Polypharmacy was associated with dry mouth (pooled OR 2.05), with consistent links between more medicines, hyposalivation and poor OHAT scores. Multimorbidity was not consistently related to dry mouth or OHAT, and both exposures showed uncertain associations with teeth, edentulism and function. Polypharmacy may affect salivary outcomes partly beyond disease count, but longitudinal evidence is needed.

AI Governance and Buddhist Ethics71IMPACT SIGNAL
Qualitative framework evidence

A Buddhist Patisambhida framework recasts university AI governance around purpose, principles, communication and judgment

This qualitative study treats AI as an institutional governance project, not only a teaching or administrative tool. Semistructured interviews with 16 informants, a focus group with nine more participants and document analysis were triangulated. Four themes framed AI as governance and a system-shaping force requiring safeguards, with participant reasoning aligned to Patisambhida: Attha as purpose, Dhamma as principles, Nirutti as communication and Patibhana as judgment, forming a Buddhist Interpretive Governance Framework.

Energy Policy Modeling71IMPACT SIGNAL
National scenario-model evidence

A Thailand 2065 model prioritizes solar, biomass and participation, without yet proving a net-zero pathway

The study develops a GMM-based path model with exogenous variables for Thailand's 2025-2065 policy planning using mixed methods. Technology and energy were most responsive, followed by the social sector. New scenarios emphasize solar adoption, biomass and public participation beyond BCG alone. Final energy use grows 31.75% and GHG emissions 42.35%, or 389.45 MtCO2e, yet the authors classify this below a carrying-capacity threshold and compatible with long-term objectives.

Protein Nutrition71IMPACT SIGNAL
Expert critical assessment

Experts pressure-tested common protein claims and found many still under-supported

A February 2025 Indiana University workshop asked over twenty international experts to pressure-test propositions about dietary protein: methodological limitations, ‘optimal’ intake for muscle synthesis, accretion, growth and repair, needs during weight loss, anabolic thresholds and potentially harmful high intakes. Experts rated evidence from strong support to sufficient to rule out. Most propositions required more research because studies lacked rigor, sample size, duration or relied on surrogate outcomes.

Systematic modeling review

Asian energy models focus on electricity while underrepresenting long storage, demand and just transition

A systematic review of 97 South and Southeast Asian energy-system modeling studies mapped sectors, time, space, technologies, tools and alignment with national targets. Models overwhelmingly focused on electricity and solar, wind, hydro and biomass. Long-duration storage, carbon removal, demand flexibility, cross-border trade, socioeconomic co-benefits and just-transition metrics were rare. National long-term scales limited subnational and near-term use. India, Indonesia and Vietnam led, while Brunei, Cambodia, Myanmar and Sri Lanka lacked comparable coverage.

Field-calibrated simulation evidence

Climate projections suggest shallower wetting in expansive soils and shorter design piers through 2100

Expansive soils shrink and swell with moisture. A finite-element long-term water-migration model was calibrated with laboratory and TRACON building field data at Denver International Airport, then applied to Colorado Front Range profiles through 2100 under SSP1-2.6 and SSP5-8.5. Compared with a traditional climate approach, wetting depth was 4% shallower in shallow clay and 8% in deep clay. Depths were similar between scenarios, but SSP5-8.5 had lower saturation. Air temperature dominated rainfall. Climate-adjusted profiles reduced pier length 3-6% with rigid and 5-12% with elastic design.

AI personalization may increase travel-platform use despite continuing autonomy and privacy concerns

Using SOR and Psychological Reactance Theory, the study proposes a Threat-Substitution Mechanism for high-involvement online travel decisions. PLS-SEM on 488 Chinese Gen Y/Z OTA users found AI personalization increased usage intention and reduced reactance, with partial mediation. Privacy concern strengthened the negative AIP-reactance relationship, interpreted as heightened threat-appraisal sensitivity rather than uniform resistance.

Prospective kinetics and simulation evidence

Thai adult data estimate a 10.3-hour influenza clearance half-life to guide antiviral trials

Eighty untreated low-risk Thai adults with acute influenza provided duplicate daily oropharyngeal swabs for 14 days with qPCR viral density. Growth-and-decay fit best, while exponential decay was most parsimonious. Median half-life was 10.3 hours: 9.6 for influenza A and 14.0 for B. Simulations suggested 148 per arm gives over 90% power to detect 40% faster clearance; more variability raises sample needs, while four swabs per day could reduce them to 81 per arm at over 80% power.
