Sex estimation from first rib 3D morphometry in a Thai population: Establishing baseline standards through comparative evaluation of traditional statistical and machine learning approaches

Three-dimensional measurements of 600 first ribs from 300 documented northeastern Thai donors compared DFA, binary logistic regression, SVM and Random Forest. Accuracy ranged from 75.2% to 81.0%; Random Forest reached 81.0% and AUC .867, while logistic regression achieved 80.3% with 0% sex disparity and greater interpretability.

Kidney-stone proteomics85IMPACT SIGNAL
Evidence of global relevance

Unveiling potential natural promoters of calcium oxalate kidney stones in the urine via anion-exchange chromatography, crystal assays, and proteomics

Siriraj researchers fractionated stone-former urine by anion-exchange chromatography, assayed crystallization, growth, aggregation and cell adhesion, and proteomically profiled highly promoting fractions. Four proteins recurred as candidates, not yet confirmed causal stone promoters.

Evidence of global relevance

Tapping-Induced Oxidative Stress Is Associated with Hev b6 Allergen Regulation in Hevea brasiliensis

In RRIT251 rubber trees, tapping versus no tapping was associated with about 2.17-fold higher ROS, 2.3-fold Hev b6 gene upregulation and roughly 220 µg/mL Hev b6 in latex. The study links mechanical wounding to plant-defense and allergen regulation but did not measure human allergy.

Factors Associated with the Early Ambulation After Elective Lumbar Spinal Surgery: A Retrospective Cohort Study

In a retrospective cohort of 581 elective lumbar-fusion patients, 57.2% ambulated within 24 hours. Early ambulators had 3.9% versus 20.4% complications and median stays of seven versus nine days, but retrospective association does not establish that ambulation caused better outcomes.
