From TOE Readiness to Firm Performance: A Staged Capability Transformation Model of AI Adoption in Mainland China’s Tourism SMEs

A survey of 433 employees and managers in mainland Chinese tourism SMEs found organizational readiness and digital self-efficacy connected to AI adoption and operational capability, which had the strongest association with perceived firm performance.

Making space for living and livelihoods in Vietnam: The everyday politics of peri‐urban land use

Fieldwork in two peri-urban communes outside Hanoi shows households repurposing protected rice land for housing and livelihoods despite state rules, while commune officials often tolerate the practice informally. Agricultural-preservation goals can conflict with household aspirations and local development. The authors call this the “everyday politics of accumulation,” but do not claim that the two sites represent all of Vietnam.

Exercise and Student Flourishing83IMPACT SIGNAL

A variable- and person-centered study of physical exercise volume and psychological flourishing among Chinese college students: serial indirect associations of self-compassion and body appreciation and latent profile analysis

A survey of 2,401 students at 15 Sichuan universities linked greater exercise volume with psychological flourishing, including indirect associations through self-compassion and body appreciation. Four self–body profiles emerged, with flourishing highest in the high-self-compassion/high-body-appreciation group. Because all measures were cross-sectional, the findings are associations rather than causal mechanisms.

Effects of nitrogen deficiency on grain quality and functional properties of protein hydrolysates in a low-nitrogen-tolerant rice mutant (MT2)

The KDML105-derived MT2 rice mutant showed genotype-specific grain and proteomic responses to low nitrogen. Nitrogen deficiency reduced some glutelin and allergenic proteins and yielded hydrolysates with stronger in-vitro antibacterial activity, but this is not clinical nutrition evidence.

Groundwater and Flash Drought83IMPACT SIGNAL
Evidence of global relevance

Dynamics of model-based groundwater-land surface response times as a dryland flash drought diagnostic

A global model-based analysis for 2004–2023 found longer groundwater response time (Topt) where flash droughts are frequent in drylands, while seasonal sensitivity depends strongly on background terrestrial wetness. Topt may be a useful diagnostic for forecasting, but it remains a model-derived indicator rather than a globally field-validated warning system.

EV battery thermal management85IMPACT SIGNAL
Evidence of global relevance

Synergistic thermo-hydraulic performance of hybrid winged–wavy rib and dimpled cooling channels for EV battery thermal management

Numerical modelling at Reynolds numbers 10,000-50,000 found that a 30-degree wing angle maximised vortex-dimple interaction, raising average Nusselt number 36.2% and thermal performance factor 12.1% over baseline, while friction factor rose 61.9%.

Genetic screening85IMPACT SIGNAL
Evidence of global relevance

Acceptance and attitudes towards carrier and prenatal screening for fragile X syndrome among reproductive-aged Thai women: a cross-sectional study

After a three-minute educational video, 87% of 772 women showed good FXS understanding, 82% accepted carrier-screening in principle and 95% accepted prenatal investigation. Higher education was associated with knowledge and policy support.

Native-chicken genetics85IMPACT SIGNAL
Evidence of global relevance

Growth–maturity–egg production trade-offs and candidate gene associations with egg-laying persistency in slow-growing Thai native chickens

Data from 563 Pradu Hang Dum hens over two generations separated growth, maturity, egg output and laying persistency. Genetic correlations between egg number and persistency were strongly negative (-0.70 to -0.88), revealing a breeding trade-off.

The Mediating Role of Academic Stress in the Effect of Problem- and Project-Based Learning on Student Innovation: Evidence from Art and Design Education

Among 587 students participating in problem- and project-based learning, PPBL was positively associated with learning innovation and lower academic stress. Mediation modelling suggested that stress partly transmitted the PPBL-innovation relationship.
